After losing our father and grandfather, we realised how many treasured photos, videos and stories were scattered across different places. That experience led to Beloved stones.
Together as a family, we developed a new way to preserve and pass on memories. We make every stone by hand in Grave, in the Netherlands.
Shortly before she died, my mother recorded personal messages for her children and grandchildren. The first time I held the stone against my phone and heard her voice, I had goosebumps. It felt as though she was with us again for a moment. A memory that goes far beyond a photograph.

When I hold the stone against my phone, I see photos of our holidays, hear his voice and read messages left by friends. It does not feel like a digital archive, but like a place where his memory lives on.
Pieta
My favourite part is an audio message my grandmother recorded. My children listen to it regularly. Thanks to the stone, her voice is still part of our everyday lives.
Nina
I always keep the stone in my bag. When I miss my brother, I hold it against my phone for a moment. Within seconds, I can see photos and videos and hear his laugh. It is a feeling I cannot put into words.
